The Most Expensive Duck In The World - Coloring Pages Animals

Mentok Rimba or in its scientific language Cairina scutulata can be regarded as the rarest type of duck in the world. Its population around the world is very rare, it is estimated only about 1000 left. Approximately 150 tails are found in Way Kambas National Park, one of the remaining habitats of Mentok Hutan in Indonesia.

Mentok Rimba is also known as Mentok Forest, Serati, Forest Duck or Goose Forest and in English known as White-winged Wood Duck. This species includes one of the aquatic birds of the Anatidae (duck).

Mentok Rimba (Cairina scutulata) is almost similar to the frequently-preserved duck species of Manila (Cairina moschata). Large hump between 66-75 cm. The shape almost resembles a duck. The color of the feathers is dark and the head and neck are whitish. Small white wing cover, middle wing cover and blue gray speculum.

Mentok Rimba is habituated in a wetland close to the swamp. These birds love to hide in the daytime
and at night they can also actively seek food alone, in pairs, or in groups of 6-8 tails.

While in Sumatra is estimated to only survive in Way Kambas National Park with a population of about 150 tails.

The number of populations and its distribution makes the IUCN Redlist include Green Mentok in the Endangered category (EN / Genting) which means endangered. This status is exactly the same as that of Maleo Bird.
